Founded in 1983, Carteret Writers is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to cultivating camaraderie between writers and promoting the art of writing. Besides monthly meetings held on the second Tuesday of the month September through November and January through April at Golden Corral in Morehead City, smaller genre critique group meetings are available to members. Carteret Writers also sponsors an annual writing contest with winners receiving cash prizes and publication in our annual contest literary journal, The Shoal.
